How can I make Black Ops run faster for my PC?

I have a Windows 7 computer, and MW2 ran perfectly for me, but even with all the graphics at minimum, it is too laggy for me to enjoy the game (multiplayer). Can you give me some help (and don't just tell me to get better computer/internet.)?

Update:

OK, I've given up. Apparently my computer isn't good enough...I will return it unless I can find a cheap and fast way to get it to work.

    If you could post your system specs then it would be much easier to know the problem. Do you have the latest video card drivers, direct x?

    Delete extra content you don't need on your computer. What I did was go to YouTube and searched how to make computer run faster.
