People all i see on this is whats the best browser.....?
Ok from the general opinion people seem to think that firefox is the best browser, followed by chrome. People seem to think firefox is the faster browser--POPPYCOCK! On my machine i could run ie6 faster than most using mozzilla or chrome. Explain to me why you do not think ie is the best, give me technical reasons--not "well my mates cousins sisters uncles budgie uses it and its quick" It will be interesting to see any answers on this
Happy crimbo
Oh sorry didn't mention this...a friend of mine USED firefox, and his pc was riddled with spyware, screwed up his registry--all because he thought firefox was better.
I do not use ie6--merely saying that i could run it quicker if i wished.. I use ie9 with win 7 , blow the socks off any fire fox, opera etc..........

I agree with you on firefox, its slow.
For me chrome is the fastest. That isn't opinion that is fact for MY COMPUTER.
Browser speed depends on a lot of variables:
-internet speed
-server distance from your location(kind of similar to ping[in games])
-internet provider
-operating system
-ram
-hard drive space
-and much much more

I don't have enough experience with IE to be able to compare it with Firefox or Chrome. I mostly use Linux so IE isn't really an option.
However you need to be using the current version of the browsers - i.e. IE8 for Internet Explorer - in order to make a fair comparison between the three. IE6 is a very old version (almost 10 years old now!) and is not even supported by Microsoft any more, so it's totally irrelevant to any modern browser debate.
Personally, I use Firefox because I've used it for years and I'm used to its bookmark system and plugins. Maybe Chrome is better, but I don't want the hassle and teething troubles associated with switching to another browser now.

Firefox, easily. It's not only the fastest (well, that depends on your PC. Chrome could easily be faster, but it's negligible.) but it has great customization options, blowing every other browser out of the water. It has a competent built in spell-checker, which is VERY handy. It has by far the best support system. If it crashes or has a problem for any reason, Mozilla will get right to work on it. It also has the best community, seeing as how most of the customization options are user-generated. With hundreds (if not thousands) added each day. It's also the most secure browser. For every virus someone using Firefox gets, 100 are gotten on Internet Explorer.

Two thirds of computer users use IE, but you should be using IE8 as anything previous has security issues now. Firefox is OK but not better, I use it as a back-up, it is just a fashion thing like other "in" browsers. I`ve tried the lot and most are inferior to IE in some way for my purposes. I think that IE7 was the best ever for Vista.

I have IE8, Firefox, Apple Saffari, and Chrome 8 installed on my Laptop.
both IE and Chrome seem to create a seperate process for each browser tab, but Chrome seems slicker than IE when loaded pages. Firefox does not seem any quicker than IE, so normally I go for Chrome, but I have yet to make it my default browser.
