yes they do require a data plan no matter what.

i would suggest the samsung rogue since its a

little better looking.they work exactly the same

except the style of the phone and display are

different.the rogue has a few cooler features the

reality doesnt have like speech-to-text which

enters words to text messages with your voice.

I've had the reality for 8 months now and have had zero problems with it. It's a great phone.
