Computer screen goes black If I'm not using it?

Sometimes I can Ctrl/alt/delete and get to the task manager screen, then it comes back up, but more often that won't work either.. I have to manually shut it off and restart. What could be going on here? I cleaned my registry earlier, restored system, cleared cache and got rid of unwanted programs. What else can I do?

Update:

Thanks, i will try that but I've never had to adjust the hibernation settings before.. This has just started happening a few days ago.. strange..

set your display options in the control panel to NOT hibernate, and stay on for longer than the usual settings.

There are settings that will turn off the screen after a period of inactivity.

Go to Control Panel and Power Options. Set all the options to NEVER.
