What does this mean on a computer scan?

I ran a scan on my computer and it recommended "disabling administrative share" and "autorun." What does this mean and is it a good idea? It said my computer would run faster and protect it from viruses better.

Update:

I actually did run AVG and ironically that's the program that told me to do that. :) So do you think it's legit? I didn't do it because I have recently heard that those free anti-virus programs are the ones putting the viruses out there. What does the admin. share control?

I am not sure how much it really "protects you better" ... i suppose its a matter of opinion

Autoruns are what cause items like CDs and DVDs to automatically start (when you put in a cd and it's menu pops up)

You can read about Admin Shares http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administrative_share here ... I would between either of the recommendations (A.Shares and Autoruns), Admin share disabling would actually protect you more and the more I read, the more I agree that its a good idea

it's a virus, tiring to get u to download it, go into safe mode with networking, & do a virus with ur anti virus program, if u don't have one download AVG the free, install it& do a full scan, it should fine it & take care of it, if it's on ur computer, if it's not it's in ur cookies & history delete both. then restart, hope that helps, & Merry Xmas .:)
