Need your opinion about MAKATI CITY...?

i'm planning to rent a house in Makati, so it's near my workplace. but i'm still not so sure to leave my sanctuary, which is at Quezon City. Can you enlighten me on the advantages and disadvantages of living and/or working there? I've heard there are a lot of improvements already. What are those kaya? And if you are from Makati, what do you think should be done to further improve the city?

Will look forward for your feedback. Thanks much.

Makati is one of the cleanest city, peace and order is better compare to Quezon city wherein it is not safe to walk at night especially at Cubao area.

If you are working in Makati then better to rent a house there, you will reduce your time and travel spending wherein traffics is the most priorities because it takes hours if you go at Makati from Quezon city.

There is no doubt that Makati had been improve a lot, the reason why they call it Business Capital of the Philippines.

    Good luck

MAKATI CITY is the same as any city in the Metropolis or Metro Manila. The only difference about Makati City is that it is the financial district of the Philippines. If you feel it is necessary to rent a house in Makati then feel free to do so. It will save you a lot in time and money coming from QC. But renting a house anywhere in the Philippines is quite risky.

    1. first of all you are not a resident of that area just for a time being therefore you are not familiar with the surroundings nor the people around you. I guess you know some crime reports of people being killed inside a condo in Makati or those renting apartment in Makati or other places in Manila for that matter. If you will live alone there is much danger than living with another person or relative in that particular place.

    2. Just like in any part of Manila. Makati is like any other place, there are thieves and muggers. As often hear the saying "there are snakes in the jungle". So you have to be more vigilant and more alert in your dealing with different kinds of people in Makati or your own surroundings.

You work in Makati and you don't know. But I guess there's no harm in asking. I'm assuming you'd know that it's a nice place to be. I mean, it's been really developed and all that. I guess... Ayala is an awesome place to be. Like, malls and offices, condominiums. Name it, it's probably there. Have you not heard of what Binay has done during his term as the mayor? Improvements. Uhm, public schools in Makati would cost you little or nothing. I heard there are free uniforms and school supplies? The public places are pretty nice. There are parks or whatever, in some places. It kinda depends where in Makati, I guess. But overall, it's nice. If you're working in Ayala, you'd be walking a lot from terminal to terminal, that is if you're working. Just saying.

I'm going to be rude. This question is kinda...dumb.

You sounded like you're living in a cave when you're very close to Makati. QC is just 15-30 mins away! You sounded as if Makati is in Mindanao or something. Seriously, why don't you check it out for yourself. Have you not been to the malls over there? Greenbelt, Glorietta? For someone who's already working you seem so ignorant. Sorry. Yes, there's nothing wrong with asking but really now...

To be near one's workplace is absolutely great. The travel time you cut both to and from work (1.5 to 2 hours total?) means less traffic stress, and time well spent for more sleep and doing things you like. We moved my family from QC to be near workplace and school. Despite the place being smaller, we decorated the place the way we wanted to, and it's a nice sanctuary where I like spending time in.

    Go for it.
