How does Jagex detect bots on Runescape?
I keep finding answers on other websites that they just monitor your actions, and not use any equipment through runescape to really prove that you aren't controlling your account yourself. Is this true? Please don't guess, if you don't know, don't answers. Or if you just want the points, just make it clear that you have no idea what your talking about :)

Lol. I used a bot (not saying I'm a noob...I had 60 wcing, but I was too lazy to train it.) And I got to level 65 woodcutting in one day. Unfortunately, I left the bot on for the whole day, and you can tell Jagex is suspicious about that. So in the end, they changed my woodcutting to level 10...and now I'm a sadface. When you use a bot, make sure to put breaks on. (Resting breaks).

Most of the other answers don't know what they're talking about. They're just making up stuff to sound good.
The truth: Nobody except Jagex knows how they catch bots. If people knew how bots were caught then the bot makers would design a bot to avoid those actions. I'm sure Jagex has a variety of ways to detect bots, but they aren't telling us what they are.

well i used to play runescape as well so i loved it. but dont use a free bot you must pay for it. jagex detects them as your moves are recorded when you use a free bot. when you pay for a bot other people actually take control of your account and do what you want them to do.

MMOs like Runescape do sweeps of botting. So for example, if 5000 people are botting on one world while they are doing a sweep, then those 5000 people get caught and banned. So they don't moniter you specifically, that would be too much work on their part. Its just a matter of if your botting at the wrong time, and get sweeped on :)

Jagex has special cameras that monitor not only your account but your whole computer, and if need be take control of any cameras(webcam) to see if youre not there and if youre not there for more than 5 minutes, they will ban your account with no appeal :)
