I'm ambidextrous. Should I learn left or right handed bass?
I can write and do things with both of my hands. I am learning to play the Bass guitar, but which should I go for? Left or right handed? I'm leaning towards left, but I'm not sure. I know that left handed bass's are usually more expensive, but what else should I consider?
Thanks!

Right handed because of how much easier right handed basses are to find, and the variety in which you can find them.
Though if it's more comfortable to play left handed, you may consider going with that. You can always flip the strings around.

Learn both. If you learn left most people won't pick up your bass and play it= no damage. If you learn right you will be able to play 99% of the basses at the guitar store and your friends houses. If you learn to play both it will help you if you decide to play another instrument like piano, trumpet, sax, etc.

The fact that you are leaning to the left handed bass seems pretty much to indicate which you favor so go for it if the expense isn't a deterring problem.

Get one of each, and practice with both. That's what I decided years ago. I'll be on stage playing right handed through most of the show, then switch guitars, and switch from right to left, just to see who notices. When I go to a "jam session", I go left handed. It keeps most idiots off my guitars. Then I "pretend" to give right handed a go on someone else's guitar! ( I use my band's other guitarist's guitar ) Drives strangers nuts when they see me do it. They don't know I'm ambidextrous!

The individual who mentioned it's unimaginable, they're flawed. The fact is, so much persons (even left passed ones) who play guitar and bass guitar play it proper passed. So, if a left passed individual can play a guitar proper passed, good then I bet a proper passed individual can be taught to play a guitar left passed. It's best logical! If you particularly wanna be taught to play the guitar left passed, I say kudos to you! Also, it will possibly best reinforce your brain and your proficiency. Paul McCartney (Beatles) is left passed and he is likely one of the few musicians who truthfully performs bass left passed! Jimi Hendrix used to be left passed, however I believe (if I'm now not improper) he performed guitar proper passed. Check Wikipedia on that on the grounds that I'm now not one hundred% certain........... Good good fortune and do not quit! :)
