Why do some people confuse the theory of man's origin?

with the theory of evolution?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101227/ap_on_re_mi_ea...

I've seen multiple people source this article and insist it means evolution is wrong... but it clearly says "it could upset the theories of human origins."

As in the out from Africa Model or the Multiregional Continuity Model.

So why do they confuse the two? Do a lot confuse the two? And is this an indicator that they don't genuinely understand the science or are unfamiliar with it?

Update:

@muhammed: lmao, i loved that movie.

confusion is when you know few things and you wrongly mix your knowledge.

people who speak of evolution when we are talking about the man's origin are not confused, they just are ignorant respect what evolution means.

  • It seems to take a lot of deliberate stubborn ignorance to intentionally confuse the context that requires one to differentiate the context of origin, as in what rock did our most primitive of ancestors crawl out from under?

Vs. how did the modern version of humans "adapt" (evolve) to a changing environment, changing food supply, changing life expectancy, changing threats to our ancestors ability to survive with just the innate instincts given the relative scarcity of knowledge or awareness of survival axioms alone until those individuals started avoiding whatever was prematurely ending the life of their fellow primitives?

    They value faith over rationalism.

They will readily believe in stuff found in pre-historic books coz the book says so while questioning testable/verifiable facts without taking a proper look at it, leave alone making any attempts to test/verify them.

Several mental dis-orders can be treated, but I'm not sure about religion.

I have dealt with soooo many people confusing the two.

And it's usually some religious person desperately trying to tell me that evolution is wrong and that they're coming closer to disproving it everyday. And I constantly have to tell them they have origin and evolution mixed up.

I have to imagine it's because from the Biblical perspective there is no differentiation between the two, and they haven't read anything else.

Modern Scientists(many of them) has scientifically proven 100% that evolution is a false theory and what they call "evidence" is a farce & much was fabricated falsely to try & back evolution since there is 0 evidence & much backing up the Creation Theory(facts)

Source(s): CREATION by Dr Grant R.Jeffrey; writings of Dr Robert Morris(Creation Scientist who used science to disprove God but found his Findings proved God instead & accepted Christ) of the San Diego Creation Research Center.
  • In my experience they genuinely don't understand the science.

Source(s): ....they believe in a Creator God, afterall.
