MacBook Pro VS MacBook Air?
Hey, i'm going to uni next year and my folks are buying me a MacBook 'cause it is extremely handy.
So, i went to the store and liked MacBook Air (13") and MacBook Pro(13 and 15 inches)
What i liked about the MacBook Air is that it is super-light to carry around. BUT it doesn't have such a big memory as the Pro PLUS, it doesn't take DVD's and CD's. They said that they can make the memory bigger but still, the cd-dvd problem remains. On the other hand, i dunno if the dvd thing bothers me that much because if i'm gonna watch a movie i'll get it either from the internet or from a friend's usb probably.
I really liked the 15" Pro 'cause i feel more at ease with the bigger screen as i'm used to it. It has everything BUT it is more expensive than the 13-inches one and what bugs me a little is that i dunno how much of a problem it would be to carry it around (weighs approx. 2.5 kg)
The 13'' Pro, i liked less of all the 3 but it has everything plus it is small and they say it will be more convenient for uni. It is 2kg; less than the 15"but way more than McAir.
My parents told me that if the smaller screen is what bothers me they can buy me a big screen which will connect to the Mac. Buying the 13" McPro plus the bigger screen will cost less than buying the 15"one.
So what do you think? Which of the three should i go for given my situation?

I have a Macbook Pro 15' and I am well....quite satisfied. weight is not a problem for me, and the macbook is ultraportable compared to other computers so you wouldn't have a problem. However, it is made of aluminum and therefore it is more durable but a bit heavier. Also, the aluminum chips easily, so be careful!
FACT: Apple sells a DVD drive for the Macbook Air called the Superdrive and it is the same drive as the one in the macbook Pro. It is $99, aluminum encased and communicates with the macbook air via USB. IT DOES NOT WORK WITH ANY OTHER MAC COMPUTERS.
Some things to know: You CAN upgrade the screen resolution to high resolution on the 15' for $100 extra. The resolution increases to 1620x1050, which is the same as the aluminum iMac 20'. Also, an anti-glare display is available for the 15' which will cost you $50, and high-res anti-glare is $150. Antiglare adds a aluminum border around the screen, like the macbook air.
The "big screen" is probably the apple cinema display. It is 27' and a 49W sub built in, with a built in webcam and mic. Using the cinema display and laptop is very awkward as the keyboard ans trackpad are communicating to the big screen but you still have the laptop screen. (Trust me i've tried it)
For me, I listen to music quite a bit through my macbook pro and the sound quality is quite good for laptop speakers (15' and 17'). for the Macbook Air, I have no idea where the speakers are located. The 13' macbook speakers are located behind the hinge next to the exhaust ports. The 15' speakers are next to the keyboard and consist of 3 speakers (2 speakers and 1 small sub)
I highly recommend the 15' macbook pro. My exact configuration for mine is:
2.66 i7
4GB RAM
500GB HDD
high res-antiglare display
apple care 3 years

Both the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air have different capabilities and are both made by Apple, but if I were to recommend a laptop, I would go with the Macbook Pro because it has more capabilities and is worth more than the Macbook Air. I would absolutely NOT go with the iPad as well. The Macbook Pro can do more and is worth the money more than the Macbook Air. It feels like a real laptop with its edge-to-edge glass, amazing keyboard, and large trackpad. The Macbook Air is just a netbook that Apple calls "magical". If you travel a lot, then the weight would be a problem, but the price is worth what you are getting, because with the Macbook Air, you're only getting an extremely light laptop with limited functionality, but with the Macbook Pro, you are getting so much more in a powerful package, and has much more capabilities than the Macbook Air. YOU SHOULD GET THE MACBOOK PRO!
