how to install a second videocard (nvidia)?
Hi, I currently have a nvidia GTX470 videocard installed on my Desktop with win 7, 64bit.
Since Nvidia only allows you to use 2 monitors of of 1 of their cards, you have to use a second videocard to use more monitors. I am a professional videographer and need to have a third monitor going, which is why I need to do this.
Once I buy another GTX470, how do I install it so that I can use BOTH videocards at once? Is it as simple as just installing it into the computer normally or are there extra steps?
Thank you very much.

I would try a multi-monitor USB to DVI or USB to VGA adapter before I worried about installing a 2nd video card.

there are other brands and types but that is just 1 suggestion.
For a non-gaming computer I wouldn't even worry about adding a 2nd video card. That GTX470 should be plenty powerful for your uses.

Very much difficult. And a great thing is required.
1) Your motherboard must be Nvidia Sli certified.
2) You need a connector to connect those two graphics card.
3) You need to check your Power Supply Unit whether it meets the minimum power supply needed by the two graphics card and better if it is Nvidia Sli certified.
