Renaissance Essay Question! Help!?

Identify and explain at least three of the central ideas of the European Renaissance. In your explanation include specific examples that support your discussion of these central ideas as well as the people with whom they originated.

here's what I have so far...

a.Individualism

i.Emphasized the importance of education of the individual in subjects other than religion.

ii.Private enterprise

b.Humanism (Helenism) – This world matters, not just Heaven

i.The belief that mankind is important to the world and that all things are capable of being understood by human beings

ii.Found its roots in classical Greek and Roman civilization

iii.Applied to Art and Literature

iv.Art because everyone can understand it

v.Donatello created a sculpture of David as a human.

vi.Michelangelo created Pieta; Mary mourned the death of Jesus, instead of celebrating his entrance to Heaven

vii.Petrarch; focused on personal wants and desires

c. Secularism

i. Code of Suleiman; reformed Code of Ottoman to allow Religious tolerance. Mosques, Churches, etc were to be built throughout Ottoman empire. Shows secularism because Suleiman didn’t control the religion of people of his empire and wasn’t the head of the religion
