Before you see how long this is and decide you don't want to read it - please read it anyway.

So I bought this 6 year old thoroughbred about two months ago. No history of any health issues, everything was great. Never lame or anything; until Sunday.

I haven't been riding him much, mostly just doing ground work. His legs are always protected in boots whenever I ride or do ground work. He has showed zero signs of lameness in the past. He came off the track, but was never raced while he was there. There are absolutely no signs of a laceration or any other type of pasture wound.

On sunday I got to the barn and his right front leg was swollen and warm. He was walking on it fine. He had a bit of a limp but nothing major. I called the vet and she said give him some banamine and leave him in for the night and she'd come out in the morning. So I gave him the banamine and everything was fine at that point.

I came out in the morning and the leg was still swollen. The vet came out and gave him more banamine, some steroids and some antibiotics. She put a sweat wrap on it that I was supposed to take off 8-12 hours later. The wrap went on about 9am and I took it off around 2:30 or so. I did the barn chores and left him in a stall to watch him. He started acting funny, so I thought maybe he just wanted out of the stall. I put him in the indoor and watched him. He layed down and I thought maybe his leg was sore and he wanted off of it. I got him back up anyway and started walking him because I obviously don't want him laying down. He seemed fine again so I put him in the stall. He laid down in the stall and I started to get worried so I got him up and took him out before he ended up getting stuck. We went back in the arena and at this point he was acting pretty weird so I texted my vet and asked her if anything she gave him had weird side effects and she said no. But by the time she replied is was getting worse so I called her. She was about 40 mins away and told me to keep him walking if I could. I kept him walking. I didn't totally think it was colic because he was pooping, which normally means it isn't bad colic. But either way I wanted her to check him out.

She got there and listened to his heart and gut sounds and did the exam and the whole nine yards. She said it was a mild colic, and was probably because he was in a stall all night. He's never in a stall, always outside. He most likely colicked from the anxiety mixed with the pain. The colic passed and we gave him some banamine again (not a lot since he already had some that morning) and turned him out in a paddock with very low grass for the night with his normal night buddy since he couldn't be stalled.

Well I went out today and the leg was swollen back up and he didn't want to walk on it. He was really leaning on his back legs and was just in so much pain. I called the vet and while on the phone with her he was getting more and more agitated and since he's the kind to not dance around and then will just randomly have an overflow of anxiety I couldn't leave my mom holding him to keep him from laying down since she isn't a very experienced horse person and doesn't always know how to react.

The vet came out and looked at him again. She gave him a sedative since he was not having anyone touch his leg. He hasn't been consistently reactive to anything. She tested his hoof and his leg and there isn't really one spot where we can pinpoint that the pain is coming from. She checked for any abcess tracks and didn't see anything. We also took a ton of xrays and they all looked totally fine. We put a poultice pad on it and wrapped his hoof on the odd chance that it IS an abcess that we could pull it out. We also put DMSO on his leg. I'm going out very early tomorrow morning to check on him and then she's probably going to come back out to see what's going on.

So now comes where I need help from you guys. These vet bills are racking up quickly and being that I'm 16 and don't have money coming out my ears I need to find a solution. If any of you have had something similar happen to your horse or if any of you vets or really experienced people have ANY ideas as to what this might be, please please please let me know. My vet has been amazing but I feel that the more people I have input from the faster we can find an answer. I appreciate ANY comments and can answer any questions. Please answer this question asap.

I downloaded Adobe flashplayer multiple times, AND it says that it was successful. However when I go into youtube, it says that I need to upgrade my Flashplayer. Adobe tech support was no help, neither was their forums. Someone please save me before I smash my computer.....

I'm currently training a shetland pony and the owner said I can do whatever I want to make him look better (he needs to loose about 150 pounds, as well as be groomed). I'm used to my eventers having perfectly pulled and conditioned manes and tails. Is there a "proper" way to keep a shetland's mane? I'm probably going to cut and pull it tomorrow, if nothing else to thin it out. I know it'll probably stick up like a mohawk if I pull it but that's fine. I'll braid it down. What do you guys think?

I'm buying a horse who is being ridden in a d ring snaffle bit. I found a d ring dnaffle with copper rollers on it. Will this be an ok bit for him?

Also, would a 78'' flysheet most likely fit a 15.2h tb?

How do I go about measuring for a blanket, splint boots, and a girth when I go for a final viewing of him?

I'm beginning the process of college searching. I've been riding for 8 years and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I want to go to school to double major, Pre-med and Spanish. I'm thinking about University of North Carolina and I need to have an eventing trainer near my school. UNC has an equestrian team, but I need more than that. If anyone knows of any barns I can check out, let me know.

I kept trying to hit this funky shaped box on my board in the terrain park yesterday and I can't explain it to anyone because I don't know what it's called! It goes up in the middle, but not very much. And it starts wide, and goes to the thickness of a rail in the middle, then wide again. And the sides are slanted. Kinda shaped like )( <that. Help me! I've looked all over and can't find a name! Thanks!

So my friend (no seriously it's my friend) had been dating this guy for seven months. I've never liked the guy. He's wayy overcontrolling.

He doesn't allow her to text ANY guys

He tells her what and what not to eat

He made her delete her facebook.

He got mad at her for using a " (:" to another guy because it was flirting.. I saw the msg.. it wasn't

He sets rules for what she is allowed to wear

She is only allowed to wear her hair down if it's straightened

He got mad at her for making a muffin from a mix, not scratch.

I think he's WAY too overcontrolling. He's broken up with her multiple times but she makes him take her back because she "loves" him. I think she only loves him becase he lost her virginity to him. She's called me several times bawling saying that they were falling apart. I can't convince her that this is unhealthy for her to keep going back to him. Can ANYONE tell me how to fix this or just give your opinion that I can at least use to convince her to stop? She's like my sister and I love her. HELP.

I've seen movies ever since I was a kid that involved the kick-*** agents in the CIA and NCIS and all of those. Do those careers even exist? I've researched the CIA and it doesn't seem like it would be like that. Basically for the answer to this question I want someone who has experience to tell me what jobs I could have that are like the ones on NCIS, whether as an agent, medical examiner, forensic scientist, language specialist.. Something. I start college courses next year and I'm LOST. help!

I was recently accepted into the miss teen USA pageant. I've had modeling contracts before but never done pageants. Can anyone tell me what kind of swimsuits are ok? Is it only bikinis? Or are cutouts or one pieces okay? What about shoes and gowns? I'm so lost! Help!

I'm 5'11" , size 4 to 6 and 160 pounds. I want to get down to about 130 by the end of August. I don't eat too bad and I run a few miles and do sit-ups every week. i just can't get the pounds off! Does anyone know how I can get these pounds off? I don't have access to a gym or anything! Helppp !
