Is my 6 week old going through a growth spurt?

Or is he just needing reassurance? Two nights ago I was gone overnight, about 18 hours total. The day I came home was a normal eating day, although he clearly missed being breastfed. Now today I cannot get him off the boob! He seems to be eating the same amount as the previous days, but he isn't content without suckling on me.

While I was gone he was given breastmilk...

It definitely sounds like a growth spurt! When my daughter went through it, it was so hard--it felt like we had just gotten her on a routine, and suddenly she was super hungry and wanted to eat all the time. But it passes, and you get back to normal.

    Good luck!

That sounds about right for a possible growth spurt but I know that the first time I was away from my son for a feeding (my first night out when he was 6 months old) when I got home he wouldn't leave me alone and seemed to nurse just like he did when he was a 2 months old, like a growth spurt constantly hungry. I wouldn't worry about it, if it is a growth spurt is should be over in a few weeks lol.
