Does anyone else feel like the segment with political power?

Is the one that thinks the other side (liberal/conservative) is intentionally destroying the country?

I disagree with some policies from both sides. But I would never for a second pretend that they're intentionally trying to destroy the country. I think Bush was a colossal failure of a President. But I don't think he was intentionally trying to destroy the country.

Is there any hope that our political debates will ever be raised above the food fight between "good" and "evil" we have now?

Update:

i gather something about liquid nitrogen. Have i been enlightened? =]

Update 2:

@grandma zaza: I don't really know what "liberal" means anymore. It pretty much contains everything "not conservative." Something that big is bound to have some bad ideas, but there are good ones, too.

Update 3:

@grandma: My point was "liberal" isn't a monolithic group. You can't assume that anyone who adopts the title of liberal holds the views you want them to just so you can continue believing every liberal is for the same thing.

  • It's essentially an "us vs. them" dichotomy.

If you're with the pro-corporate greed crowd, you automatically assume that anything you perceive as "bad" must be blamed or caused by a liberal straw-man which can be beaten to a pulp like a poorly assembled pinata.

If you happen to think that people should help each other whenever the opportunity presents itself, you are a selfless-centric liberal and should be commended for exuding some of the best personality traits of a compassionate human being.

Whether or not either side of the political spectrum is destroying this country, it's pretty obvious that those who perceive their opposition as inherently "evil" must be inhibited, restricted and pigeon-holed with the most inarticulate political pejoratives regardless of whether or not those pejoratives when lumped together essentially cancel themselves out given that socialism and fascism are inherently in their purest form, diametrically opposed to each other.

Having said that, I think it's rather ironic that the utter destruction of this country continues unabated

while regressive's are blaming false narrative liberal stereotypes for the wanton destruction of this country's infrastructure/middle class/poor precipitated by regressive obstructionist terror/hostage tactics by Straussian extremists uncomfortable with a mixed race man of color in the white house.

I can't say that the moderates or democrats haven't helped nudge this crazy political train over the precipice of insanity, but few have been willing to risk or grow a backbone to stand up to the bullying tactics perpetually used by professional non-blinkers on the right.

Liberals have been trying to destroy this country for decades through entitlement programs and the destruction of our education system. Why? Because a more uneducated and dependent class of people is much easier to control.

This is exactly why I am no longer a Liberal. It took some time, but the evidence is glaring.

  • It's a fight over money, and don't ever listen to people who directly benefit financially. They do not fight for funding so someone else can gain. They do it for themselves whether they realize it or not.
