How to avoid traffic jam.?

Use car pool. Use public transport. Dont jump car queues coz if u do so and go ahead to break ahead of any other guy, u'll create a bottleneck.

Traffic jams are a problem everywhere, save a few places maybe. Least we can do is control ourselves. Keep our tempers low, stop honking (honking is no solution. A flyover wouldnt pop up before u if u honk neither will the guy ahead make way for u. Max he'll get more stubborn and make u peeve) and wait till the jam clears. I have experienced that if u keep ur nerves under control the problem gets solved soon.

Need to make all roads one way. Dedicate a road for one direction

If all traffic police work responsibly and if all human being use the human sense of not driving fast and cause accidents traffics won't jam.

Construct fly overs and sub ways for pedestrians.

On doing atleast these simple things, even pollution also will be reduced considerably AND PRECIOUS energy would be saved .

try taking different new paths to get to you destination...you may get lost but you will find out other ways to places...instead of taking the freeway try taking backstreets...main intersections that can help you avoid traffic jams
