Have you ever wanted to work at a nursing home?
The Interview
Human Resources Lady- So, you're a spoon salesman?
Buk- No, I am a spooner.
HRL- You work in the kitchen?
Buk- I love kitchens!
HRL- We currently have an opening for a dishwasher.
Buk- Does that involve spooning?
HRL- We use spoons in our kitchen, yes. Is this something you're interested in, sir?
Buk- I have been spooning all my life. It's my passion.
HRL- We here at Shady Acres hire only the most passionate caregivers to look after our residents.
Buk- Oh, there will be lots of passion.
HRL- Excellent! Did you bring any references today?
Buk- Ummm...They're all dead. But I'd be happy to demonstrate what I'm capable of.
HRL- Sir, I'm sure you're a fine dishwasher, but I just need proof of past employment and a look at any gaps in your job history.
Buk- Gaps? I am a TIGHT spooner. No need to worry about that.
HRL- Sir, we wash ALL the dishes here, not just the spoons.
Buk- How many hot little dishes do you have here?
HRL- I suppose it's in the hundreds. Why would the amount of dishes matter? Are you concerened there would be too much work?
Buk- Well, I like to spoon for at least 5 minutes in order to get a feel for my work.
HRL- 5 minutes for each spoon???
Buk- At least. I can go longer if you'd like, but I figure you want results and I'll need to spoon as many people as I can to raise the overall satisfaction scores.
HRL- I'm sorry sir, but it sounds like you are much too slow for what we are looking for. We have lots of dishes and it gets very busy. And spoons are only the beginning. We have forks, knives, -
Buk- You need a forker??
HRL- Well, yes, the forks need-
Buk- Listen, I can fork, too. All day. No problem.
HRL- And the rest of the dishes? The pla-
Buk- Listen, I'm your man. I'll do hundreds a day. No worries. When can I start?
HRL- Well, we need someone for this evening's dinner service, so I suppose you can start immediately.
Buk- Perfect. I think I'll start with the spooning and finish up with some forking.
HRL- However you want to do it is fine, I'm sure.
Buk- See ya at dinner!

omigosh! I really did work in one in Santa Rosa in my hippy dippy dayz,I beat out a dude with a Masters degree in the 70's because I had experience as a DISHWASHER growing up in family diners and restaurants [I m Greek].It was a sad place.I remember one young guy about 28 who lay in his bed all day staring blankly at a mobile above his bed.A complete vegetable from a motorcycle accident.A Nazi like German nurse owned and ran it and her Mother was in it.One day ,her Mother ran into the walk in freezer and wouldn t come out! It was quite an experience.I almost contracted HEP from dishes that came back late that should have been quarrantined.[Almost got forked there...]but a worse job was working on a begonia farm near Santa Cruz when I broke an ankle,no forks or spoons there just flat after flat of baby begonias! No thanks for the memories,Bukster!

I interviewed for a bookkeeping job at one once. Didn't get it. That's cool, I don't think I really wanted to work there anyway.
