I'm 5 days overdue I'm taking evening primrose oil capsules and raspberry leaf tea to help things along and have been since 34 weeks. I've tried nipple stimulation, sex/orgasm, castor oil 3 times ( no contractions just the runs sorry tmi), warm baths, walking and accupreasure. I've now come to the conclusion that no matter what I do it's not going to hurry things up. I know this isn't what you want to hear but unless your baby and body is ready no amount of "nudging" will help him or her out. Frustrating, I know. I'm over being pregnant and am ready to meet my son but I think the only way to go is to relax, your baby won't be long and you can refuse induction if there is no risk to you or baby, I'm the same as you this is my first and I don't want to be induced either. Good luck with your labour, don't worry you will be holding that gorgeous baby very soon :)

It is not uncommon for first baby's to be overdue! Doctors usually induce you once you are 10 days overdue...so you still have 16 days to get into labour!!

Sex is good and so is the walking, maybe you can also try nipple stimulation (expressing) - this makes your uterus contract! You can try hot curries and pineapple as well. Steer clear od castor oil - it gives your diarrhoea and can cause the baby to pass meconium (first baby poo) whilst still in the uterus and they can inhale it at birth causing serious breathing problems.

Just try to relax..and remember that even if you are induced you are still going to get a beautiful baby at the end!!!

Try googling, what helps to bring on labour. I have heard that drinking raspberry leaf tea and having sex can set it off... Dont worry she still has time and will come out wen shes good and ready.

I was not dilated at all a week before my son was due but sure enough he came on his due date. Dilation tells you nothing about when labor will begin. Be patient she may very well come on her due date
