Off the wall interview question - What kind of animal would you be?

I had an interview for a job. I am qualified for the position, but I think I blew the interview on this question. I was asked, "If you could be any animal, what would you be?" I said, "A cat." and then gave my explanation. My answer seemed displeasing. Was it just too unimaginative? At any rate, I would like to know if you were asked this in a job interview what would you say and why.

They just wanted to see if you would panic when asked the question. They kind of wanted to throw you off and see your reaction. It is called - behavioral technique - if you do well now, then on the job when crazy things start happening, you'll be able to deal with them and not freak out.

That is a very strange question. They were probably looking for a more aggressive animal answer, like tiger; strong willed, elephant, great memory, pit bull, aggressive and never give up. I would not let that one question deter you. If you did well on the interview other than that, you may still be fine. I would call them and follow up on the status of your applications.

particular anecdotes are greater advantageous than everyday platitudes - do no longer in undemanding terms say you're friendly, hardworking, and so on. yet think of of particular memories and examples that define the fact you're. Such memories are much greater convincing - movements communicate louder than everyday satisfied words.
