What should i pack for going in hospital?

Okayyy Im a 17 year old who is having a op and I'll be there for 2 weeks, I'm really scared and trying to be as prepared as possible, I've never stayed in hospital so I don't have a clue what it's going to be like and what to really bring, I mean obviously knickers and stuff but other things I wont really think of, or can anyone tell me what they brought, like what sort of comfortable clothing because I'm going to be really sore and constantly bleeding. Oh and what type of bag or suitcase, I don't wanna go in with a gargantuan suitcase thats going to take up the whole hospital room lol..

It would be greatly appreciated guys xx

First of all just want to wish you all the best with your operation, hope all goes well and that you recover quickly from it. I have had afew hospital stays, all for different reasons and all different experiences. My suggestion is to be as comfortable as you can seeing that you will be there for 2 wks. Depending on whether it be a public or private hospital will depend on what you will need to bring, you could always ask your hospital what you need to bring? The last time I was in hospital was for a week and I had a huge suitcase full of stuff that I didnt use or need. But I had my own private room so it didnt matter how big my bag was as it just sat in a corner. Even if you did take limited stuff you could always get someone to bring in some extra things when needed. Ok so the obvious things would be: toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, shaver & soap but sometimes hospitals supply soaps). Then afew changes of COMFY clothes like tshirts & track pants, OR pyjamas, couple pairs of socks, pair of slippers, a dressing gown or warm jumper and several pairs of underwear. If you run out of clean clothes during your stay then you could get your family or friends to do your laundry or some hospitals do it for you. Other things: a diary & pen 2 write down your experiences, a cheap bedside clock, a good book to read & your mobile phone if needed & ph charger. Dont take valuables such as a wallet full of money, expensive watch or rings but if you need to take in your laptop or mobile ph just make sure it gets stored in a locked cupboard or get your family/friends to take them home. BUT youre there to rest and recover so the less to distract or worry then I wouldnt bother taking it in. Anyways this is just a guideline but maybe see with your hospital what you will need to pack. Ok, all the best and well wishes.

Dude you don't bring clothes when being admitted to the hospital. When I worked at a hospital it was against our policy for any patient to wear clothes other than hospital issued. Even psychiatric patients. Bring stuff to entertain you, also no electronics .

just the clothes to leave the hospital. while your there you'll be wearing that special hospital one with the back wide open. also get a gown, so your back end doesn't show when walking, toothpaste, tooth brush, and slippers if they don't provide one
