Who still has a record player and records?

Update:

I have a Magnavox which I took to the television shop and they repaired it for me. I have over 100 albums which I play every once in a while.

Update 2:

Pansyblu - I do have Mitch Miller , the Christmas sing along , which has become a Christmas tradition in our house. Don't want to trade though.

Update 3:

Maybe ConansOw has some to trade.

Well, I HAVE THEM, but the record player doesn't work. Hasn't since my youngest daugher was 12 years old and decided to "straighten" the needle! That was 21 years ago!

We belonged to The RCA Record Club in the early 60's.

We have an Elvis Presley - Harry Balafonte - The First Editions/Kenny Rogers - The Ventures - Duane Eddy - Henry Mancini /Theme songs etc. I don't even know how many we have.

Sad - one record player and eight track player was stolen along with our 45 player. We bought a Crosly player that didn't last and couldn't be fixed.

So our old record collection is packed in boxes - in the basement.

We have a big collection of cassettes. Nothing to play them on and I doubt they would sound that good or the tape would hold up.

Hope our cd's will last and not become extinct.

    Saving our collection for family.

I wish I had the record jackets more than I wish I had the records or the record player. When I think of all those album covers I had that are so remembered for their artistry, I could cry. I have several as screen savers, but it's just not the same thing.

I mean, let's be honest: those records got scratches and sounded horrible after awhile! I'd rather have them on CD. I love it when they clean up those old Billie Holliday or Nat King Cole tracks and re-release them, so you can hear them the way they were meant to be heard.

Me! I love my records and have gotten help on here as I'm trying to put them on mp3 files or cd's. I like the record jackets. So fun to read, you can't get all that on a cd jacket. I'm doing the warped or scratched ones first. I love to go through the records at second hand stores. Anybody have any Mitch Miller you want to trade? :)

I have records from my parents, from my husbands uncle, some were given to me as gifts when I was young. When I'm gone I'm sure they'll all go in the garbage, but I enjoy them now.

I have a turntable that is part of the stereo system. Basic turntable. Does not have the capability to change records. You have to set the record on it, and manually bring the needle over to the edge. But, it's better than nothing. We have maybe about 300 old favorite LPs

I do. It's a new record player, one of the retro ones that I got for Christmas several years ago. I have about 400 45 rpm's and a couple hundred LP's. I play them often. Love those scratchy old Beatles LP's!

James and I have a huge record collection. Yes, we do have a record player which he bought from a magazine while in Vietnam. It still works, but it is very difficult to find the needles. I am very careful with this now that James has passed and intend to pass all on when I am called home too.

Many albums but, no record player. There's nothing like the sound of good old blues and hearing the scratching of the needle and the turn table turning.

I still have 26 of my albums and an old cabinet stereo. The record player has to warm up, but most of the time I can get it to play.

We do and still enjoy all the oldies from the 1960's played on it. Also, we like Mitch Miller and Ray Conniff very much.
