Is it a bad idea to move back to your home town if you suffer from social anxiety?
Okay so about a year ago I moved from Oregon to Georgia. I thought this was the place I wanted to be but after moving here I've realized how much I miss Oregon and the people there. I'm not considering moving back just because of the people, but also because I'm use to it out there and getting around is much easier to me. I've been back twice since my move, but didn't stay long because of my social anxiety and depression. I have found steps to get over my social anxiety now and are willing to take the steps and stop being such a social odd ball. I haven't made any friends out here which is why I'm asking the question is this a good or bad idea. Also I forgot to mention one of the main reasons I want to move back is to get back with my ex. We still talk and still love each other. The only problem is the distance.

If you have family and true friends there, then it seems ok to go back. but your going back should not be for your "ex" unless you want to get married, otherwise you are doing the wrong thing all over again.

I agree with the first post, and honestly don't beat yourself up about the anxiety...that's a huge obstacle to overcome, give yourself a break concerning your social interactions (ie don't worry if you stumble during a convo, get overly nervous, etc.) The more you allow yourself to relax about it the easier it will be to overcome.

Just follow your heart. So many ways to analyze and over analyze the pros and cons. Just do what you feel will make you happy. Good luck.
