Why Florida does not have a car inspection like the other states , we should have one for safety?

You know how many people are driving with worn ball joint, wear tires, bad rack pinion, crack windshield in they dont want to fix it, One lady was killed on interstate 95 2 weeks agos when a suv tire came off going at 70 mph in push the car that was beside her into a lake. In My opinion the state of FL should have a state inspection because most people are not wear if they vehicle is safe it will safe life!

Update:

Each state are different, Californioa check everything, but that is good emission it help u your vehicles to run better in get better mpg

I agree, I am from the UK and everything from a motorbike to a lorry (sorry truck :-) ) ,over three years old has to have an annual check that includes brakes, lights, steering, suspension and even bodywork corrosion. The cops over here now have a system in their cars that automatically reads every number it sees. It is connected by radio to a central database that checks that the vehicle is insured, tested and taxed and it sets of an alarm when an illegal vehicle goes by.

I spend a lot of time in Florida and once saw a really old Cadillac that was so rusty all the panels were flapping about as it moved.

Although it's a pain having to pay about $60 a year for the test, at least I know my car is safe when my family is in it along with 99.% of the other cars on the road.

Having said that, I still love Florida, it lovely and warm compared to the UK

You have offered an opinion, but I don't see a question there, unless it's an implied "Why doesn't Florida have mandated vehicle inspection like all the other states do?" First, any vehicle going down the road with a cracked windshield, or obviously in a state of disrepair is subject to being stopped and inspected by the highway patrol, or state troopers depending on the state, and being taken out of service until repaired. Secondly, all other states don't. There are only 17 out of the states that require inspection, and two of them only require it on transfer of ownership. 17 states have a periodic (annual or biennial) safety inspection program, while Maryland and Alabama require a safety inspection prior to registration or transfer of ownership only. Nebraska requires safety inspection only upon newly-arrived vehicles which were previously registered in another state. New Jersey discontinued its passenger vehicle safety inspection program on August 1, 2010

thank god fl. does not require auto inspection. n.y. state repair shops have an incentive to fail an inspection to perform work for income. the inspection process is just another example of how big government has been stripping our liberties away. should the state inspect inside our homes for explosives and weapons? some would say yes it will make the community safer. rubbish! how about some individual liberty coupled with personal responsibility.

agree all states should have safety inspections i got hit by a car that shouldn't have been on the road but was since the state i live in does not require them it was ok for this car to be on the road

There are only 18 states that still have safety inspections. Many states have done away with them because there isn't any conclusive data that they improve safety.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net/ that has been around since 1995.
