Can't view DVD-R on my pc?

Lately when I try to play some of my old burned movies (DVD-R disc) my computer isn't letting me. When I insert the disc the menu will still pop up that shows the folder with whatever movies are on the disc, but when I try to right click on the movie it will just sit there and "load" until I get the Program Not Responding message.

It is doing this with ALL of my DVD-R discs. If I put in a non-burned copy of a DVD it works fine. They always worked before but all of a sudden they have just stopped. Dragging/dropping the files to the desktop doesn't work either, it will just "load" until I get the message as well.

I use Windows 7 if that matters. Any ideas?

Have you tried putting the burned DVD-R discs into a different DVD readable drive? Is the DVD drive in question the same one as before, or a different one?
