I thought vegan food didn't contain any cholesterol, but on the box this product says it does....?
So I got one of those Simply Asia microwaveable noodle things, and it says it's vegan, but it also says there is cholesterol in it, only a tiny bit, but then doesn't that mean it's not vegan? I've never seen any other vegan product I've consumed have any cholesterol in it, so...I don't know, I need answers! :)

That's a huge indicator that it contains animal products. I'd read over the ingredients and any ingredient you're not familiar with, check on here to see if it's animal-derived: http://www.peta.org/living/vegetarian-living/anima...
If it's only a tiny bit, that probably means there is a little bit of an animal-derived ingredient in it, but it's so small that they just claim that the item is vegan.

Yeah, if it contains something like coconut oil it will have cholesterol. The amounts of cholesterol have to be above a certain threshold for it to be declared on an ingredients list, which is why vegan foods typically say they have 0%. This is usually not true, but the amount is small enough that they can legally call it 0%.
If you want to know for sure, post all the ingredients and we'll see if we can work out if any are animal sourced. If it just says "vegetable oil" and no animal ingredients, I'll bet it's coconut oil and that's your source.

We often say that plants have no cholesterol. In fact they do, but in 1/100 the amount that's found in animal products, so it's basically negligible as far as people's health (and the nutrition facts panel) is concerned.
So in order for plant-based food to make even a blip on the cholesterol level on the nutrition facts panel, the product's got to have a lot of fat in it.
I forgot to mention, they also manufacture synthetic cholesterol that's non-animal derived. Don't ask me why.

The cholesterol in plants is approximately zero but some plants contain very tiny amounts of cholesterol that are close to zero.

It can't legally say its vegan if it contains any animal products. So it must be cholesterol from non-animal sources.

As far as I know, cholesterol is always animal-derived. What flavor are the noodles you have? I'd be interested to read the ingredients list/nutritional info.

You should definitely be skeptical, but keep in mind that there can be vegetable-derived cholesterols. :)
