  • Is it considered poser-ish to have a mohawk if you're not really into the whole punk scene?

I'm thinking about getting a mohawk, and I'm wondering if others who have them look down on others if they're not all punk and sh*t. Like, I usually don't let what others think affect my decisions, but I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to be something I'm not either. Like, I don't care about the culture surrounding the look, I just think mohawks are awesome and I want one. Is that bad?

  • Where can you find inexpensive (under $50) retro clothes?

you know, pin-up, 40s/50s-inspired, stuff like that

I've found some sites but most of the items listed are $50 or more, which is not in my budget

is there anywhere to find dresses and such that are $40 or lower? like, $30 or $20 would be better lol

  • What kind of jewelry is used the first time you get your ears pierced (without a piercing gun)?

I want to get my ears pierced, and the first thing I'm wondering is how much that would cost at like a tattoo place with a needle, not at Claire's or somewhere like that where they use a gun which is apparently bad for your ears and increases the likelihood of getting an infection. So yeah my second question is what type of jewelry would be used for the initial piercing? Would it have to be a stud or could it be like little rings; what are my options? Basically I want it to look more edgy, I don't want two little crystals lol.

  • Questions about septum piercings...?

Okay, so I have numerous questions about getting your septum pierced and such. First of all, I really want to have it done but I've never had anything pierced before, not even my ears (though I'm doing that soon), so I'm wondering how bad it hurts. I also had issues with frequent nosebleeds in the past, so I'm wondering if getting a septum piercing would make it start up again. Another thing I want to know is what is the typical type of jewelry the piercer puts in initially. Most of the pictures I've seen have been of the horseshoe barbell thingys, so I'm assuming those, although I don't know why. Is it because they're just more popular? Personally I don't really like the look of those, if I were to get my septum pierced I'd want just a plain segment ring, or maybe a cbr, although apparently segment rings are hard to deal with; is that true? I want to get a job and so I'm imagining switching daily back and forth between a segment ring and a retainer for work (once the piercing is completely healed of course); would that be a big hassle, or would it be too harsh on my nose? Oh right, and so would I be able to get my nose pierced initially with a segment ring or no? And what's the typical cost? And how do you choose where to get it done and who's reliable? And do the rings come in different diameters? In some pictures I've seen the rings people have in are right up against their noses and look really small, and I'd want mine to be away from my nose more and more noticeable, not like a little thing you have to squint at to tell what it is, ya know? So then would the key be to get a bigger gauge or bigger diameter? Okay, I've asked a lot of questions so I'm going to stop now lol. Any wisdom on this subject would be greatly appreciated though, so thanks! :)

  • Is it possible to eat vegan at Wellspring Camps?

Specifically at the Wisconsin location? I know they have whole foods and some of it is vegan, but you've got to have enough stuff to live off of everyday if you're going to be there for six weeks, so...can anyone give me an answer about this? It would be greatly appreciated! :)

  • Can you get sick from touching things that a mouse has crawled on?

this might be a dumb question, but whatever...

my cats chased a mouse in my room, and I don't know where it went and when I let them in to find it they just started stalking my lizard in its cage lol

I saw it run over my slippers and run in and out of my closet and all over, so could that stuff be contaminated now? would I get sick by touching it? should I try to clean the space somehow?

also, can mice climb? like, could it climb up my bed while I was sleeping? I don't even want to be in here right now!! help, please!

  • A question about semi-permanent hair dye...?

Okay so I want to dye all of my hair emerald green, so if anyone knows the best green dye to use to do so, that would be awesome, but anyway....

I want to dye everything green except a streak in the front of my hair which would remain white-blond. My question is, after washing it several times, would the green leak into the white and leave it an ugly color, or would it stay white and be fine?

  • Why did my psychiatrist give me Risperidone?

She didn't really tell me what it was for when she prescribed it for me, she said it was kind of for sleep....Then when we picked it up from the pharmacy they said something like "yeah, it should help calm her down, help her relax..." and on the bottle it says 'take one tablet by mouth at bedtime.' I've looked it up and apparently it's not a sleeping pill, but an anti-psychotic, which was alarming to me. I mean, I've read that people who have taken it experienced drowsiness as a symptom, but they didn't take it for that effect. I have not been diagnosed with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, and while I do have issues with anxiety, I am never one to freak out or be manic. I am, however, in a pretty bad situation with my depression, where it's gotten to the point where I feel so worthless and I hate myself so much, and I see continuing to try and change things for the better as so pointless, that I am actually trying to push myself into being suicidal again. I know it's not normal, but nothing's changed and I'm pathetic and life just sucks for me and a significant part of me believes I and the people in my life would be better off if I didn't exist. So, because I'm having these messed up thoughts would that be the reason she wanted me to take them? She's aware that I'm NOT on the verge of killing myself, though I do want to get to that point, where I have enough guts and will and lack of hope to do it. What do you think she's hoping for, what effect on me? Do you really think it's just for sleep? Or perhaps she suspects there's something else wrong with me, although wouldn't she tell me that? I'll be talking to my therapist and school counselor over the next two days to help me with this situation; do you think they'd have answers about this?

Okay, that is all, sorry for making this so long, and thank you ahead of time for your answers!

  • I thought vegan food didn't contain any cholesterol, but on the box this product says it does....?

So I got one of those Simply Asia microwaveable noodle things, and it says it's vegan, but it also says there is cholesterol in it, only a tiny bit, but then doesn't that mean it's not vegan? I've never seen any other vegan product I've consumed have any cholesterol in it, so...I don't know, I need answers! :)

  • How dangerous would it be to cut yourself with an X-Acto?

Like, compared to taking apart a shaving razor and using the blades on that, how severe would the damage be? Could you accidentally kill yourself with a new one? I've used one that had been used multiple times at school before, on wood and sh*t, and it slid across my skin really nicely, really smoothly, and bled nicely.... When I look at them in the store they look so pretty, so beautiful, so tempting, but on the container it says 'caution: extremely sharp' and people have said the same, so, how sharp are they really?

    ^Yeah, I've got issues, I know......

  • Is self mutilation (particularly cutting) considered immature by mental health professionals/people in general?

Like, besides the general public, would therapists and such consider it to be "immature," emotionally or otherwise? I know it's not normal or healthy behavior, but my cousin compared it to a three-year-old throwing a tantrum or something like that. Would you/they agree?

  • Are men's boots wider in the calfs than women's boots? These boots, specifically....?

    http://www.amazon.com/Pleaser-Mens-Mega-Platform-B...

they're knee-high and I've got bigger legs so would they be wider than a boot made for a woman?

like, do you think these would fit a plus-size-ish girl?

    2 AnswersFashion & Accessories1 decade ago
  • Can someone help me find boots similar to this?

    like this boot ---->http://www.rivithead.com/product_info.php/cPath/96...

like, one that only goes halfway up the calf and is vegan-friendly (no leather) and has a more straight-across platform

mainly what I want that's different would be one with more buckles, not the straps

    who can help me? :D

  • This might be a stupid question, but how does one order a vegan coffee in their local cafe?

Like if you don't want to drink it black, what do they typically have that's vegan to add to it and how would you order that? :)
