This might be a stupid question, but how does one order a vegan coffee in their local cafe?
Like if you don't want to drink it black, what do they typically have that's vegan to add to it and how would you order that? :)

I just order what I like on the menu and ask for soy instead of dairy. 99% of chain cafes like starbucks will have soy.
If it's an independant cafe, ask if they do soy or rice milk. If they don't, you might have to stick to the black coffee. But, I really dislike black coffee, so I would normally have a fruit or herbal tea instead of black coffee.
If it is your local cafe, and you plan to go there a lot and give them your business, let them know that you're a vegan and you'd appreciate it if they stocked soy milk. If you'd be buying 3 or 4 coffees a week from them, they'd definately buy in a weekly carton of soy or rice milk for you.

As others have said: just ask. Tell them what you'd like and find out if they have it.
Before I was vegan, I hated making any kind of fuss, but, now I've realised that its the only way to get what you want when you're at cafes etc. They want your custom and your money, so most places will accommodate you. Its the same with ordering a meal: you've got to tell them what you want/ don't want, or you risk ending up with something you can't have, or don't like.
