I have been a guest at a couple and I have been a bridesmaid in one.

Overall, they are costly to your guests.

My friend who lives in NY (I live in Michigan) got married on a beach in Florida and I was a bridesmaid in it. Overall with my hair, dress, shoes, accessories, gift, and then all the expenses associated with a vacation like flight, hotel, car rental. It cost me a good $2,000 for a vacation I wouldn't have taken otherwise (I like to pick my own). Yes, nobody made me do it and I could have declined but being she is my friend I felt honored she asked then pressured. In the end, I'd do it again but I still wouldn't like spending the $2,000, and I can afford to, some people cannot.

When you return you wont be having a reception, a reception is something that's held the same day as the event. Instead of a reception you will be having a celebration.

Just remember the "reception" is the expensive part so in the end you will be spending the same amount as if you had a traditional wedding in your home town.

You can call Club Med or Sandels, they both has full wedding services and will do just about what ever you want. You could choose to have a nice sunset wedding on the beach! Or, you could go on a Cruise and get married on the Ship by the Captain, the hip takes care of everything.

A lot of people choose, flying to Las Vegas, which doesn't sound that great but can be simply wonderful, with so much to offer. I wish you the very best.

I would advise against it unless you are paying for everyone's travel, hotel, meals, passports, etc. Believe it or not, people do not want to spend their vacation money and time going to your wedding.

You cannot travel to Cuba for a wedding, at least from the US.

I had a sun destination wedding. I live in Florida!

You do what makes YOU happy. And you most definitely do not have to pay a dime for any guests' travel expenses. You might want to talk to those closest to you. Those who you would really want to share your day with. If it's hard for the majority then that's something to think about. If not, then go for it. Your closest friends/family will be there! Good luck!
