job distraction need help from boss?

I have type of work that needs great attention to detail and have to focus more on details. The problems is recently my boss move one data entry person next to me beyond that there is a person coming and going frequently to give work that data entry person also our office location is in noisy area. Also data entry person eats her lunch at the desk so the food is smelling. How to tell boss nicely to move that data entry person to different location without upsetting the boss?

It's always ok to speak with a supervisor when situations or people become challenging and you could use his/her input toward a solution. A better solution might be to look at where you might be able to move. It looks like it is a noisy area even before the data entry clerk was located next to you. If you aren't the one to move, perhaps your supervisor can speak to the supervisor about the person/s involved regarding eating food in an appropriate area and maintaining a professional demeanor when working as it is a close "work space". Hope this helps!

I would sit down with your boss to discuss this issue but do not immediately ask for the other person to be moved.

State that it is difficult to concentrate as the area you work in is noisy and it is distracting you from your work which requires lots of attention to detail. Also say that having a new person sitting next to you is creating further disruption as she is visited often by other people giving her work and talking etc. See what his/her solution is as they might move you to a better area.

Think you will have to put up with the food issue, but if it bothers you that much talk to her directly. Don't go through your boss as this is more a perosnal issue.
