Ipod Nano computer wont see its attached all of a sudden?

I have an ipod nano 2gb that I have had hooked to my car radio for a few months I brought it in to add more music to it and the computers I have a laptop and desktop, wont see its connected, I tried a different ipod with the same cord and it sees it any ideas?

How can I reset it when the computers dont even see it as being attached? Thanks

    reset the ipod as it may think its still plugged into your car

    maybe your ipod needs an update or your itunes. other wise it might just be the ipod. :( sorry can't help much...
