Ok, if Tom Brady chalks up another Super Bowl and MVP, where does that put him with Peyton Manning?

Before this season, I thought that Peyton was clearly better than Brady. But with the monster season he put together this season, I don't think so anymore. If he lifts another Lombardi, how do you compare the two?

BTW- I don't like that people said Manning just had a depleted cast. Brady lost Moss and Welker had just come back from a devastating knee injury. He had new TE's and RB's, and still pulled off the season he did. His play I think also inspired the Pats' defense. He and Manning didn't have that much of different situations this year, but Brady clearly outperformed him.

Update:

@krazy

You bring up great, great points and I agree with all of them. The thing is, the Patriots played like crap before the Cleveland game and won those games because of the mistakes of their teams and the ability of a Bill Belichek squad to take advantage of them. But after the Cleveland game, Brady got fired up and really inspired his crappy playing team to start playing well. That's when your mention of McCourtey became an Island, and when he started intercepting left and right. I also agree that the Patriots are a better team, and that Manning is often surrounded with crappy players, True, true.

But I don't agree with what you said about the Ravens. Everyone has bad games. Last season was one of the only times Brady has ever choked in the post season, and to be honest the entire Patriots team choked. Yesterday, Manning played incredibly well and would have won had he had Clark and Austin. But he's also had stupid, unforgivable chokes in the post season, far far more than Brady,

    Peyton Manning, is a good quarterback but his track record shows, he chokes in the post-season, and quite early in the post-season. Tom Brady, is a spectacular quarterback, and his track record shows too, multiple Superbowl rings, multiple awards, and this season he set himself up for the Lombardi, and MVP. If Tom Brady does bring home another Superbowl win he will clearly be ahead of Manning, as the superior quarterback.

    Well on here last year everyone said Manning was better because when Welker went out before the Pats played the Ravens in the playoffs Brady threw 3 ints and got routed in the playoffs. Now when Peyton loses, Gonzalez, Collie, and Clark you don't want to hear it? Peyton beat that same Ravens defense the next week in last years divisional round one week after Brady looked terrible against them. You aren't the same qb without your best options. Brady has had his same cast from week one. That's the big difference. People are to into the now on yahoo because they neglect the past. Manning is a better qb, Brady will always have the better team and coaching. The better draft picks, the better gameplan, the overall better defense. Look at Mayo being defensive rookie of the year then McCourty was a lock of Defensive rookie of the Year if it weren't for Suh. Now look at the Colts last two #1 draft picks. Donald Brown and Jerry Hughes, who both didn't play a down last night against the Jets. Brady played better this season, but still with a much better team. I can't believe someone would argue that. Peyton put up 108 passer rating against the Jets and was limited to 3 possessions in the second half. You just can't make your argument against Brady having a better season this year or in the past. Every team is different every year, and the Patriots have been better almost every year as a team. Teams have figured out the last 5 years how to beat Peyton and the Colts and it works effectively. Run the ball, throw short time consuming passes to avoid Freeney and Mathis, and eat the clock in the meantime. The Colts have had the least amount of offensive possessions 4 of the last 5 years for this very reason. Peyton gets very limited chances compared to Brady. Just look at the Colts 10 ints this year as opposed to the Patriots 25. That's 15 more possessions for Brady, and this has been going on for a long time. Brady is great, but Peyton is better. The Colts are a soft football team.

    I'm glad you read, but Peyton has lost a ton of games by mistakes on other players. Including a chip shot field goal to win in OT vs the Dolphins(missed) and lost game, and another chip shot to tie for OT against the Steelers(missed) resulting in a loss. If you've seen every Manning playoff game, the dude just has an incredible streak of bad luck with a string of a couple bad games. Not 10 bad games in which he has lost in the playoffs. QB's tend to get too much credit, and in return they also get too much blame. As far as the credit Peyton gets for regular season success, I actually think it's fair and honest. But for all the playoff failure he supposedly brings the Colts, he gets way too much blame. His passer rating is identical with Brady's in the postseason but with WAY MORE losses. That to me says team. If you disagree with me about the Ravens game, take this one for a better example. Tom Brady threw 3 ints against the Chargers in the 06 Division Round and 3 ints against the Chargers in the 07 Championship game. That's 6 interceptions facing them back to back in the playoffs. The Patriots won both of those game. In 07 and 08 Peyton Manning against the Chargers in the playoffs played far superior throwing over 600 yards combined and only 2 ints(both coming off dropped passes). The Colts lost both those games. You tell me if Brady isn't the luckiest qb to ever play in the playoffs? The guy is great at what he does, but HIS TEAM comes together in January. Honestly, the Patriots held the best offense of all time 2001 Rams to 17 points in the Super Bowl not Tom Brady. Teams win Super Bowls

    brady is better than manning. brady is more clutch in key situations and has a higher td:int ratio. Brady had to work with rookie TEs and a really different cast and they still led the league in scoring. A lot of team rebuilded and winning a superbowl would put him in the conversation as the best qb ever.

    If Brady wins another ring...that lifts him above Manning. I always felt Manning was a better field general, better passer, but now Brady is in a world by himself and can be mentioned in the same breath as Montana!
