Any doc. who might know what's wrong with me and tell me if chest pains and neurological disorders are related?
I'm 22, always healthy and besides what I'm about to describe, I only get period cramps and colds sometimes. A couple ER visits aside, I haven't been to a doctor in years but I plan to get this crap checked up:
I've been having pains in the left side of my chest for a while and sometimes my left arm really bugs me. Lately, the pain and discomfort in my chest has been happening much more often and been lasting longer, while the arm thing is still not that often but it does happen sometimes.
A little bit over a week ago, I got a pain so strong, I almost fell on the floor. It was weird. I felt it how it started in the left side of my chest and how it went up through like a line (I don't know if you get this, it's as if there was a vein between my head and heart) all the way to the left side of my head. It lasted a few seconds and it was really scary. I haven't gone to the doctor but my friend's mom says it could be a neurological problem? This weird heart/vein/head thing has only happened once.
Another thing... since I was little, sometimes I've felt a pain as like in my heart when I inhale and have to start breathing veeery slowly and through my mouth for about 5 mins. until it goes away or it would hurt bad. Sometimes there is even some noise (similar to those your stomach sometimes makes when you're drinking something or had some liquid). It happens only every once in a while. I never told anyone, I thought it had something to do with my asthma maybe but it keeps happening (haven't had any asthma trouble since I was 15 so I consider myself all cured).
I can't run for more than 2 minutes without feeling like a fish out of water and going up stairs gets me really agitated. It's always been like that.
All this stuff put together, would it really be some neurological problem? I thought it was more like a heart thing. Another reason I wanted to ask this question was to see if there is anything safe I could take when I'm having pains until I'm able to make it to a doctor. I never dare to take anything even if it's Tylenol or Advil just in case but I would if I knew it was safe.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hell's teeth, Princess, this ain't good. Don't delay getting to the doc. I could make all sorts of suggestions for what might be wrong, but frankly it's a pointless exercise - you need some expert help. At 22 you should be able to run, be pretty much free of anything that lasts more than a day or two. Angels is right in thinking that you could be suffering a sensitivity reaction to some of the junk that so many people think is 'normal', but honestly, until you've got an expert opinion, there's no knowing. Please, what makes you unable to get to the doc today or tomorrow?

I don't know about these things but I just want to add to the number of people that are telling you to
Go See A Doctor darlin' !
come on! do you really want to dilly dally and put off something HEART related? or if not heart related, CNS related??
too most central things to the body
We all don't want to go to a doctor because of those lingering "oh-sh!t-what-if-theres-actually-something wrong" thoughts
but trust me when I say finding out about a problem when its too late is a lot worse, no?

Oh my!!! It sounds like you may be suffering an Acute MI. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? How long has this been going on? No offense but, have you been tested for syphilis (it wrecks havoc on cardiovascular and neurological system). You should pray about it, pop a baby Aspirin (81 mg) and go see a doctor right away to get a cardiac work up (cardiac enzymes, 12 lead EKG, CBC, BMP, PT/INR etc.). Be prepared to discuss aggravating/alleviating factors and describe what the pain feels like (pressure, tightness, sharp, dull, aching, squeezing, etc.) Hope this helps and hope you start to feeling better soon.

Yes see a doctor. Left arm pain can be a sign of heart problems.
Hope it's okay (((Princess)))

See a doctor, definitely.
But also consider how you're using, misusing and neglecting your body. Are you carrying a lot of weight (like a heavy bookbag) on one side every day? Do you walk regularly? How much of the day are you on a computer? The arm pain could be from overusing your body in particular ways and not compensating adequately through exercise that balances it.
Source(s): If you use perfumes and/or heavily scented products (shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, scented candles) and there is a neurological component, it *might* help to switch to less fragranced products. Nearly all 'parfum' and 'fragrances' are synthesized from petroleum. Breathing all of that in 24/7 isn't the best idea for anyone, but a reaction can be neurological problems and/or respiratory difficulties. - 1 decade ago
GO SEE A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Im not a expert, but I do know when left arms pains and chest pain its mostly related to heart probleme such as acute, heart seizure, heart faillure, even heart attack, i dont want to scare you or anything. and you'r still young only 22 and you can only run for 2 min?????
GO SEE A DOCTOR, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR T_T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope that helps :)

Your symptoms could be indicative of a congenital heart defect. Link below.

Ren is right. See a Doctor.

Geez Princess,
why are you putting off seeing a doctor?
It could be serious.
Too serious to be asking about it here,
much less take any advice from this place.
Just go to a doctor already..

go to the doctor you never know

Well I'm no expert but this could be a symptom of acute heartbreak caused by Tim Tebow, please see a doctor ASAP. Seriously though, see a doctor.
