Am i going to have a stroke?

im male 18

so i went to the doctor not long ago because i have high blood pressure apparently

i got metoprolol 25mg twice a day

anyway i have horrible anxiety 

i took my blood pressure when i was lying down and it was 170/120..i took it again after a second and it was normal 

i’m scared i’m going to have brain damage or stroke or soemtjing from this happening..

will i have a stroke or brain damage or anything?

i have headaches some days where it’s throbbing in my neck and back of head and it gets WORSE when i cough or like get up and move around i can feel my heartbeat in my head

    170/120 is way too high over way too high.  That is the zone where bad things, cardiovascular & cerebrovascular, can happen happen.  YA is notorious for bogus answers & misinformation, so as an RN, I am telling you that you need to consult with your physician & tell him or her that even with the Lopressor, you are having these spikes.

    No.  You seem fine to me.  I’m not a doctor so i’m going to tell you off the record that blood pressure spikes are nothing to worry about at your age.  Strokes normally happen to people (nearing or in) 50+.  Even at the hospital if i get a BP i don’t like i take it up to three times to see if i can get a good one.  Calm down

    If that 170-120 is alaways then the chance is higher getting a stroke but if it’s once in a blue moon then no 

    What’s your average BP
