Help on choosing monologue for audition?
Since our director hasn't chosen our play yet, she has asked us to audition with whatever monologue or dialogue we prefer. I have no idea what she's looking for because I don't know what plays she has in mind. . . . I know this information probably doesn't help you guys very much, but if you could suggest some great pieces that could be used for auditions I would greatly appreciate it, because I'm terribly stuck!!
This is for highschool by the way.

Your director is probably trying to see what you would choose to do and hasn't decided exactly what play to choose because she wants to see what she has to work with yet. I would recommend not doing something that you think she would like but something that is comfortable for you and something that you personally know and something you already love.

"Fame" is a very good play! You can take one from there.
"High school Musical" is also very common.
Just think back to English class
