Questions about sunbeds?
I'm going for a tanning session tomorrow. Don't yap at me. If you want a yap write a blog and don't even bother commenting on this question because my lifestyle is none of your business and I'm only doing this as a one off. I just need an answer to this question and not a lecture.
Can anyone who's used them before could you let me know how many minutes I should do, what I should wear, Should I avoid make-up and moisturiser, shouldI wear sun cream, and how much colour should I expect?
Most importantly, am I likely to burn on it? I'm Irish if that's a factor lmao, but I generally do tan well.
Excuse me...I'm not racist and I'm quite happy wif how I look thankyou very much (: I dunno how you'd come to that conclusion lmao. Some black people use lightening cream and I'm not running around calling them racist.
I just need a base tan to prevent burning.
Just did a test. Apparently I'm type 3 european, but only just by one point so I am gonna be careful and wear sun cream. I have burnt badly before but it took quite extreme conditions (Swimming without sun cream on holidays. I've actually done this a few times). I'll wear some factor 6 tanning oil on my body and 15 on my face for 10 minutes. Does this sound ok?

White people never tan well, they turn orange or red and burn. Tanning beds are for racist white people who want dark skin, yet insult people who are brown in colour. People who use tanning beds are insecure and racist most times, they don't like their own skin colour and are willing to get cancer just so they can attempt to "brown" their skin.

A base tan wil not stop you from burning, the only thing that will prevent burning is high factor sunscreen, or covering your skin.
People of Irish descent are usually type 1 or 2 skin, which burns very easily. Do you have blonde/red hair? Blue/green eyes? Freckles? If yes, then sunbeds are not a good idea. It's unlikely you'll tan from a single session, and you have a high chance of burning.
You know using sunbeds increases the risk of skin cancer, so I'll not bore you. But if you MUST use a sunbed, go somewhere reputable where the staff will be able to advise you according to your skin type, not one of those coin-operated places. And keep your time LOW (if the cabinets are powerful, then under a minute)... you might not think pale skin is attractive, but burned, peeling and wrinkled skin is even less so. Moisturise well after the session, and keep moisturising. DO NOT put on any creams, lotions, deodorants or cosmetics before you go, many of these have ingredients that will increase your sensitivity to UV (photosensitisers) and do some medications (such as ibuprofen) and over the counter remedies. As for how often to go, a UVB burn reaches its maximum intensity at around 36 hours post exposure, so make sure you leave it long enough to make sure you haven't had a burn.
My overall advise is DON'T DO it, the risk aren't worth it, but if you MUST, then please be VERY careful!

Right some of them answers are just plain dumb and narrow minded.
Sun beds can be good for u if used responsibly like u intend to. But if it is for a base ran to prevent u from burning whilst on your hols, then you need to go a few weeks before hand. Wear what u would wear on holiday to tan in, the sun beds are in individual rooms to allow u to change in privacy. Your first time is going to make ur skin go a little red as ur body is not use to it. Sun protection is a personal choice and won't impact ur colour. I would recommend around 3-6 mins on first go then slowly increase the time. Your colour won't change much on the first go but after a few you will notice a gradual change. I wouldn't go on more than twice a week but it's how ur skin copes with it. If ur still unsure then ask the receptionist and they will be able to guide u to which sunbed is best for you. Oh and try not to wear make up that can act as a barrier. You will only burn if u over use the first time gradual is the answer.
Hope that helps :)
And as for you cancer crazed people the natural sun can cause just as much damage to your skin and cause skin cancer!! Research before you judge! Because doctors sometimes recommend tanning beds for certain skin conditions!

If your really white and dont tan much i wouldnt go in very long. I would go in about 8-10 min.. i usually wear either coverup or a sun screen on my face becuase it the thing you wanna protect the most. I always you a tanning lotion and then lotion every time you get outta the tanner and after a tanner because it keeps your skin mosturized and youll hold a tann alot longer.. Its better to not tan ever day about everyother you skin needs a break. i wouldnt except any color untill your thrid time tanner but where a sticker ane youll see how tan your getting.. I used to were my undies when i tanned but i just clean the bed before i go in and i dont wear anything..
Hope you get a good tan!!
