"According to the Herald-Sun newspaper of Melbourne, which interviewed the couple, the woman, who is in her thirties, is "consumed by grief over the daughter who died soon after birth" and admits she has "become obsessed with having a daughter and it has become vital to her psychological health."
That line alone tells me this woman should be in grief counseling not looking to kill innocent children to get her way. She is an unstable parent right now and no self respecting doctor should be helping her get pregnant.

I do think the important thing here is that the couple want a girl because they are overwhelmed with grief about the loss of their daughter.
Look at the article and you see a lot of pain and loss.
The first three boys were simply wanted as any child would be, not that they were particularly fortunate.
Their next pregnancy was wanted, not to have any child, but a replacement child, and that alone needs to be seriously addressed. That would be a terrible burden to put on a child, each one is individual, not to be looked at as a replacement. In fact I'd really prefer that until that concept of replacement is worked out psychologically in the parents, they shouldn't be encouraged to have any more children.

Do YOU have ANY understanding of IVF at all? To get "twin boys" through IVF in the first place, upwards of thirty other embryos had to be "cultured".....and if you are concerned that those embryos "died", what about the several hundred THOUSAND spermatozoa that just didn't make it to the egg?
Life is cheap and has little value....that's not my "opinion", it's just the obvious fact if you look at the actual evidence rather than allowing your emotions to guide your logic...

Yes and it disgusts me I know the Australian authorities wont allow it.
So they will go to America where money talks and you can buy anything you want that also disgusts me.

It seems to me that if they could just choose the sex of the child, no child would've been aborted.
