Bradford and Griffin both for Rookie of the year?
This would be interesting if it happened. 2 players from Oklahoma City area, go to the same school, and become rookie of the year in both of their major sports? Wonder what the odds are of a little area in the middle of nowhere accomplishing that. We are sure proud of those guys out here. They are representing the state well.
Suh is definitely a good candidate as well. It will be interesting to see what happens. I think Bradford has a better chance of getting it purely on the fact of the position he plays. Bradford in his rookie year though helped the Rams get 6 more wins then they had last year.
The question is will they both be rookie of the year? It is one thing to be a 1st pick, but it's another to live up to the hype and deliver. Despite where they were picked in the draft I think it is a great accomplishment.
Aircodel you are exactly right. I call OKC small area because most people think we are a bunch of rednecks out here still riding around in covered wagons lol. It truely is a great place though if people just gave it a chance. We love our sports out here thats for sure!

The NFL has separate rookies of the year for both offense and defense. Suh should win the defensive rookie of the year for sure and I think Bradford will end up being the offensive rookie of the year.
In the NBA Blake Griffin currently has a stranglehold on the award because John Wall has been injured this season and he doesn't make as many highlight reel plays as Griffin so even though the Clippers aren't very good you still see Griffin on sportscenter every night. He also is simply playing better than Wall which obviously helps a lot. He'll only lose the award if he gets hurt, the so called "rookie wall" where first year players get tired because of a much longer season should affect him less because he was with the team last year and saw how things work.
It is very impressive that Bradford and Griffin will probably both with ROY, after winning the highest award in their sport while in college (Bradford won the heisman the same year Griffin was college basketballs player of the year) and both being drafted number 1 overall.
Oklahoma city and really the entire state of Oklahoma should be proud of these guys but just for the record I wouldn't call Oklahoma City a little area in the middle of nowhere, it is the 31st largest city in terms of population and has a higher population (in the city, not the metro area) than Atlanta, Kansas City, Miami, Cleveland and plenty of other well known cities.

I never made that connection. It seems so obvious in hindsight.
And as to the first answerer, the NFL has separate awards for offensive and defensive rookie of the year, and Suh is a virtual lock for the DRotY.
