Replace CD Changer or Go mp3 Completely?

My 5 CD changer is about to give up the ghost. DH does not want to replace the system altogether so we have a standard stereo receiver (vintage very late 70s/early 80s...hey, at least I was finally able to get rid of the turntable and cassette deck. lol). I was wondering what is a better option: 1) to get another CD changer, or 2) to load all my CDs onto a MP3 player, or better, onto a flash drive. Thoughts? Ideas? Brands? Links? Thanks.

I've got my CD's, LP's, cassettes converted to mp3, stored on my hard drive, and backed up on an external drive. Audio out from my 'puter is connected to a similarly vintage stereo receiver so I can use playlists, etc in Windows Media Player.

I've still got all the original media stored in the basement, because I'm something of a packrat and because I've got plenty of room since the kids moved out. I've also got the turntable and cassette decks still connected if I want to go retro once in a while, or in case I come across another old favorite at the local used record shop.

Do you need a CD changer? Why? Upstairs, the blu-ray player will play cd's through the home theatre system if needed, and down in the man-cave, I can use the drive in my 'puter if I want to play the original media.

I'm guessing since you're not using a top of the line modern system you are not a hardcore audiophile. I would definitely recommend going MP3 if for no other reason than to simply eliminate storage & swapping of CDs. A lot of modern DVD & BluRay players will play MP3 discs and some can even stream MP3's which are stored on your computer which might be another option. They are fairly inexpensive & serve more than 1 purpose.

Your question is tough. do you pick a internet site the place you will get mp3s on your participant? do you need to swap the utility that your mp3 participant needs to acquire song from the internet? the 1st element of your questions makes it seem as while you're soliciting for web pages to acquire song. the 2d section makes it seem as while you're in want utility for you device. the type that could desire to have come on a cd which you no longer have.
