  • Need French Translation?

In the movie, "The Help", Aibeleen teaches the little girl, "You is kind; You is smart; You is important."

I want to print this on a craft project, in French.

I know it is not proper English. I am a total grammar nazi. But I love the emotion of the statement, in the movie.

Yahoo won't let me link the youtube of it. Here it is with 2 spaces between the "ll" and the "s", in case you want to see it. Just close the spaces for the link to work :

  • Star Trek Insurrection 1998: what genre of ST is this?

I am listing an ebay item that has 1998 Paramount Pictures on it, so an IMDB search gave me the film "Star Trek: Insurrection". Which genre of ST is it? Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, or Enterprise? If I don't get an answer here, I guess I will just select "movies" and leave it at that.

    Thanks in Advance. :)

  • drop shipping ... when is the seller told how much shipping is?

I know the profit margins are not high etc. I am just curious... do the wholesaler's cost include the shipping cost of the product? I know HOW drop shipments are shipped. What I need to know is when, in the ordering process, I would know how much it COSTS for the drop shipper to do what they do. Is that cost included in the cost of the item, or am I told later? I need to know this before naming a price or minimum bid for the item.

Thanks to anyone who can help. :)

  • Replace CD Changer or Go mp3 Completely?

My 5 CD changer is about to give up the ghost. DH does not want to replace the system altogether so we have a standard stereo receiver (vintage very late 70s/early 80s...hey, at least I was finally able to get rid of the turntable and cassette deck. lol). I was wondering what is a better option: 1) to get another CD changer, or 2) to load all my CDs onto a MP3 player, or better, onto a flash drive. Thoughts? Ideas? Brands? Links? Thanks.

  • Recovery disks in Win7 vs Win XP?

I always create recovery disks from computers when I first get them. I have a new computer now with Win7, 64 bit, and I can only find a "System Repair Disk" option, which is only one CD. Last time I created 1 time only recovery disks for a new computer, it filled 5 or so DVDs! Am I missing something? I have another Win7 in the house and was able to make recovery disks.

    Thanks in Advance. :)

  • What do you call this dress clasp thingy?

I saw these back in the 90s.These items had two clasps attached to elastic and sometimes they were decorated with silk flowers and beads, etc. You would attach each clasp on the sides of the back of a dress or blouse and it would tuck in the waist. I want to create and make some for some shirts I have to bring in the waist.

What do you call this item?

    Thanks in advance. :)

  • How much is the dorm facilities for a freshman at Univ of California, Santa Barbara?

I am getting ready to write that first check for my son's college (in the fall) and I need a ballpark figure. He has been accepted and will be attending UCSB. How much is the dorm? That is room and food/meal ticket, right? Is there parking on dorm property, or should he not have his car on campus? Thank you so much for your assistance. :)

  • Can bread be baked with the first rise? If not, why not?

I have experience in bread making and I often use sourdough starter, so I am not a beginner baker.

Yesterday I took great effort to grind my own whole wheat to a fine flour make a yeasted whole wheat bread. But as usual with yeast and all purpose flour, the dough rose beautifully with the first rise, but did not rise well at all with the 2nd rise, causing loaves to be flat and too dense. It is still tasty, but not sandwich material, if you know what I mean.

Would the world stop revolving in the baking industry if I put the dough directly into the loaf pans and baked them on the first rise?

Grinding flour is a messy process and I don't want to waste one grain.

    Thanks in Advance! :)

  • How much time do two rib roasts take?

So everyone at the table has access to an end piece, I have chosen to roast two rib roasts. They are boneless, and they weigh 3.5 lbs each.

Can you give me an idea on the time for rare centers for these roasts? I can figure out per pound for one roast (I figure about 12-15 min/lb at 350F), but how much extra time with the extra roast in the oven?

Thanks in Advance. Back to watching the animated Grinch. ((hugs))

  • Entry to Gate 8 Warner Bros. Studio Burbank?

I am going to a filming of a sitcom at Warner Brothers Studios. The entrance is "Gate 8" and the address is 6650 Forest Lawn Drive. A satellite image shows a river between the actual studio properties and Forest Lawn Drive.

Has anyone gone to a sitcom filming via Gate 8? Is there another entry I can't see via satellite image?

    Thanks

  • Prescription 35% urea lotion...Is it made from urine?

I have problem with dry skin on the bottoms of my feet and after weeks of OTC lotions, I went to my doctor who prescribed for me a 35% urea lotion.

It is my understanding that urea is an organic chemical from urine. Is the type of urea used in a prescription formula a synthetic form of the compound?

  • Saddleranch for dinner only...Hollywood or will Universal suffice?

I want to take my husband out for a good steak and I want fried chicken. I hear the Saddleranch has both. We are "old" and we would only go for dinner, and be gone by 7. We live closer to Universal City, but I am willing to drive to Hollywood.

I know this place is also a club/bar for partying. I want to consider for an early dinner:

    1) the noise factor. Is one or the other noisier in the early dinner hours?

    2) the smell factor: does one or the other have a "after bar" odor to the dining room.

Thanks to all for your HONEST answers.

  • Blonde Australian Shepherd?

We saved a dog from the pound this year. When we took him to the vet locally, we were told he was an Australian Shepherd. He is blonde with long hair and white patches, and darker brown spots on his long nose. Cute/great dog, but I have never seen a blonde Aussie Shep.

Anyone seen a dog with this description??

  • Is Paula Deen drunk in her Christmas live cooking shows???

I love Paula's cooking, but holy gosh, this set of live shows with other FoodTV hosts have her doing some pretty weird stuff and laughing out of context. She lit a torch and cooked sausage with it because the stove would not light, and she forgot to turn on the oven.

    Anyone else noticing?

  • How much was an uncirculated Carson City 1884 Morgan worth in 1980?

I have a Morgan silver dollar, minted in Carson City in 1884, distributed by General Services Administration in 1972.

My parents bought this piece in July 1980 and I would like to know roughly how much they paid for it then.

My ebay auction for it is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1...

NO, I AM NOT TRYING TO ADVERTISE MY AUCTION! I am just including my listing to give pics of the item.

    Thanks in advance. :)

  • Anyone know who wrote the story about a guy who was trying to quit smoking?

This story was in a movie back in the mid/late 70s. (the link to the different stories in the movie was a cat walking from one story to another, if that helps)

A guy goes to a stop-smoking office and the manager tells the smoker that he must sign a contract that he won't ever smoke again. The smoker signs, then goes about his business, and whenever he snuck a cig, something bad would happen. He talked to the guy who recommended him, and noticed the recommender's wife only had 3 fingers on one hand.

Does this story ring a bell for anyone? I was telling my daughter about it and she said she would like to read it. I thought it may have been an early Steven King story, but I wouldn't know where to find it.

    Thanks in advance! :)
