Can my drivers ed. expire before I take my drivers test?

I started taking the TEXAS home course I believe back in march of 2010 (started when i was 15, already 16) and I'm about to be finished with it but I don't know if I'm still eligible because I've had it for almost a year. Also, what exactly will they need from me before I take my drivers test?

o.k this is the process to get a licence if ur under 17 and a half....

STEP 1 - Complete an approved Driver Education course. (read in the end of answer for more info)

STEP 2 - Pre-enroll in behind the wheel driver training.

STEP 3 - Take a written test at the DMV when you are at least 15 1/2

    years old to obtain permit.

STEP 4 - Start driving lessons with an approved driving school. At least

    six hours are required.

STEP 5 - Practice at least 50 hours with a California licensed driver aged

25 or older, ten of which must be at night.

STEP 6 - Hold the instructional permit at least 6 months and be at least 16

    years old.

STEP 7 - Take a driving test at the DMV to receive a provisional driver’s

    license.
