Is it uncool for guys to drive New VW Beetles?

If you hadn't said you were in California then I'd have said yes.

A new Beetle is deeply uncool (not to mention a bit crap as cars go), but from a state where you've made it legal to butt-f*ck you buddy in a public place but illegal to have a Marlboro in public afterwards I'd say all bets are off.

They are crap cars though, even by the standards of what you Yanks normally drive. Be a man and get a 'Vette.

The main reason I would have for NOT getting it? They're a pain in the *** to work on and therefore more expen$ive.

Personally? I've driven just about everything imaginable including a 1967 D series Citroen. I currently "drive" a BICYCLE and a 1982 VW Westfalia camper and I really don't give a swollen rats rectum WHAT anyone else thinks about my choices in transportation.

Provided it doesn't have a plant pot on the dash and flowers all over the outside of it I say go for it.

I'm a 28 year old man and I happen to quite like them. The last generation of 'new' Beetle also came with significantly better engines than the original 'new' Beetle, i.e. TSi petrol engine and TDi PD diesel units.

Remember too the fantastic looking Beetle RSi. Rare as hens teeth but proves the Beetle can be cool. Get one in blue, black or gun metal and you'll be fine.

and this car is a real uncool car for a man in his 40's and 50's and unless the gorilla is not going at mach 5 with his hair what he has left on fire in a buggati valeron it simply is not cool.

If you want the car then you get it ! You will get rubbished on here for asking and half your answers are from pennyless morons. If you think the car is too soft then do a few mods to make it look more aggressive ! Oh and have a nice day :+)

I'd recommend the mini or smart car if your in to that sort of thing but I've seen guys driving Beetles.. Let's just say I'll never be caught in one.
