Can you help me identify the manufacturer of this tin box, and what it was originally used for?

This is the logo, about 1/8 inch tall, printed next to the serial number on the edge of the lid. I believe the letters are "HK" but it might be "RK". I have no idea what the image over the letters is supposed to be.

This is what the lid, or front of the box looks like.

The sides of the box are also highly decorated and embossed. I suspect that the Original use of the box may have been something such as tea; cookies; cigars; or liquor. The box is 9 x 8.5 and about 3 inches deep. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I have had this box for over ten years, and I can remember seeing one in my uncles basement that was very much like this one over 40 years ago.

Update:

C'mon! Somebody knows something

- or at least can offer some keywords to search.
