Is telling lies to the police bad?
The man next door was beating a trapped fruit bat to death with a lump of wood. The bat was screaming in pain. It was horrific. I called the RSPCA to report it and the police also came.
The man denied to both the RSPCA and the police that he even knew the bat was trapped in his fruit tree, I know what I saw and heard and was shocked that he outright lied to the police. So it's his word against mine of course.
It appears the bat wasn't injured, thank God, but obviously that may not be the case when the bat is properly examined.
I'm no huge fan of fruit bats, but to hear it's awful cries in pain and fear was horrible.
Is he going to be in trouble if it turns out the bat was injured and he lied?

Cops lie all the time.
How are they going to know if it is injured unless they confiscated it?
I do not agree w\ animal abuse @ all; however some animals (rodents for example) are very detrimental & must be dealt with.
