so you would allow a heavyweight to go against a lightweight?
Problem is a rubbish heavyweight could smash a super skilled lightweight with brute force. So this is really not a good idea, and you wouldn't get proper skill levels accurately portrayed.
Could you imagine say roy nelson going against a tiny little lightweight? what do you think would happen?

There wouldn't be any top 7 fighters what you are talking about is a winner takes all situation and that would leave only one winner.
