What is God's preferred means of communication with Its children?
In life I marvel at all sorts of stuff, from water essentially running uphill within the trunks of trees, to the movement of my own hand, to the galaxies that wheel about every night in the heavens above.
If God is truly out there, will It ever utilize a means of communication which is less indirect?
For example, rather than showing a vast wilderness scene playing out where a wildebeest is hunted down by a pack of cheetah and eaten alive for sustenance, showing the cycle of life and death, why not just deliver an iPad™ or laptop to me which happens to have such a scene open in its browser, along with relevant Wikipedia and Nature and National Geographic articles to enlighten me on the facts surrounding this event?
pittyakker: I probably should've clarified that water is being drawn up against the force of gravity by whatever life force motivates the tree to suck it up in the first place; without life's desire to live it wouldn't be motivated up a tree trunk. It's certainly not something supernatural, it's just something that living trees do which is counter to the natural tendency of things to find the lowest level of energy (e.g. if you drop a rock from a building, it'll fall and land and just sit there, whereas if a kid picks a rock up and throws it, it's doing something it wouldn't do by itself but which a living child is making it do).
Roger T: Dude, save it for religious people, I'm agnostic, I don't believe in any god.

God can't communicate with us at all cause he doesn't exist. All those things you said are just natural phenomena that have been going on before humans created the idea of a "God".

Through the pages of his word the Bible.
A report published in 1971 shows that there are possibly 6,000 handwritten copies containing all or part of the Hebrew Scriptures; the oldest dates back to the third century B.C.E. Of the Christian Greek Scriptures, there are some 5,000 in Greek, the oldest dating back to the beginning of the second century C.E. There are also many copies of early translations into other languages.
In the introduction to his seven volumes on The Chester Beatty Biblical Papyri, Sir Frederic Kenyon wrote: “The first and most important conclusion derived from the examination of them [the papyri] is the satisfactory one that they confirm the essential soundness of the existing texts. No striking or fundamental variation is shown either in the Old or the New Testament. There are no important omissions or additions of passages, and no variations which affect vital facts or doctrines. The variations of text affect minor matters, such as the order of words or the precise words used . . . But their essential importance is their confirmation, by evidence of an earlier date than was hitherto available, of the integrity of our existing texts.”—(London, 1933), p. 15.
We would expect God’s message to all mankind to be available around the globe. The Bible, the whole or in part, has been translated into some 1,800 languages. Its circulation totals in the billions. Says The World Book Encyclopedia: “The Bible is the most widely read book in history. It is probably also the most influential. More copies have been distributed of the Bible than of any other book. It has also been translated more times into more languages than any other book.”—(1984), Vol. 2, p. 219.
The fact that the Bible has survived through centuries of animosity and opposition should indicate it is from God. No other Book written has been able to with stand such opposition.
It is as if our Creator has written us a letter and we need to read it.

Usually Cheetahs hunt alone and they don't hunt wildebeest. Water running uphill in trees was already explained. May I suggest that instead of seeking a God to spoon feed you information, look up the information yourself. You marvel at the wonders of nature but in two of the examples you gave, it is obvious that you made no effort to educate yourself. This is an example of what frustrates me about Christians in general. You look at the world around you in awe and make no effort to understand it. You merely state, "Goddidit". If you make no effort to understand how things work, then you will be like a deer in headlights, awestruck by the world, and totally unable to discuss it.

What in the world are you babbling about? Blacks? If you are putting it in a perspective of good/evil pagans, white v.s black magic, you are seriously mistaken. There is no such thing as white or black magick, true magick has no color because it is simply power/energy. Though if you are asking if wiccans are good or evil it depends on the person. Just how not all Christians are nice, godly people, there are some pagans and wiccans that are not nice either. (But usually 99% are ;)

First, your statement about "water essentially running uphill within the trunks of trees" is false. Water travels up tree trunks through osmosis.
The theist would argue that "god" has already provided the iPod and the computer and because you have free will, it is up to you whether or not you utilse it.
The atheist would say - WTF?

Through the bible, prayer, and even sometimes miracles are all communications. The very fact that we have breathe of life everyday is him letting me know he is there.
