If you hold the card so that the contacts are up and facing away from you, the switch should be on the top of the left side. If it is not there it might have got snapped off while the card was not in the camera. I think best way to resolve this problem is to just buy a new card and either keep it in the camera or in the plastic holder that it was in when you bought it. This way the card will be protected from being damaged.
