Xbox 360 warranty expired?
I went to xbox.com/support, filled out a repair request by typing in the consoles serial number and it said it was going to run me 100 dollars due to expired warranty.
How can this be if it was manufactured in 10/08/2009 ?
Or is this not was the date means above the serial number.
The probelm is that the disc drive is not reading any media.
I see now....in small print on the Xbox site, I had heard that they had extended from 1 to three years but thats only for RROD. What abunch of ******* criminals. Instead of wasting good money on Microsofts next console not to mention to a gold membership, next time i'll spend my money on a premium website to promote going with their competition which is what i'll be buying next time.
Thanks to all for anwsering my question so promptly... Looks like ill have to open her up just like the last one, though it was given to me.

The Kinect update from Xbox Live on November 1, 2010 caused a large number of Xbox 360 to stop reading discs and only give an "open tray" message. Microsoft still hasn't addressed the issue.
There is a very large topic on the issue at the official forums. Simply sign into the forum with your Microsoft Live ID and add your complaint to it to pressure Microsoft to fix it...

I assume it came with a 1 (one year) warranty? From your information you stated it was manufactured 10/08/2009. It is now 2011. This past October 8, of 2010 was one year. It has been out of said warranty for 3 months 10 days.

The prolonged crimson ring of loss of life guarantee is 3 years from the acquisition date. It varies from guy or woman to guy or woman seeing as not all human beings offered their 360 on a similar day. Seeing as your accepted waranty expired in 2007, you need to have offered it in 2006. Your prolonged guarantee will expire in December of this 300 and sixty 5 days. Mine only expired this month considering the fact that i offered my first 360 in August 2006.

Xbox's have a 1 year warranty, dispite what year they were made. You can try calling xbox to see if they will make a exception but normally you have to pay to have it repaired. Good luck!

3 year warranty is for the RROD. Just fill one out for the RROD. They don't even test them.
