a water tank has a square base with each side of length 3 meters. water enters through a hose at a constant rate of 20 liters per minute. at the same time a valve in the bottom is opening, so that after t minutes, water leaves at a rate of t liters per minute. if the tank starts out filled to a depth of 3 meters, after how many minutes will the tank be empty??
i have done this problem like a million times and havent achieved the correct answer

well you know that:
the amount of minutes and the amount if litters per minute is the same amount.
also that it has to leave faster then it comes in for it to become empty.
but you need to first know how much a litter takes up then it becomes easy.
it would be how manny littres there are per minute leavine and how long it takes after the water leaves until the other water to hit the bottom. theres no way it could be emty if water was comming in
