When will cambodian adoptions re-open 2 the US?

My fiance and I have decided to adopt from Cambodian since some of his relatives were adopted from there in the 70-80's.We would love to adopt from the Phnom Penh region of Cambodia. After looking over our fiances we have determined we can afford inter-country adoption in the amount of 26k.We would love a sibling set or a newborn between the age of newborn to 2 year old toddler. We would love to share our home with a child who needs one.We will be staying in country 2-3 weeks for court proceedings for the certificate of forneign adoption decree and visa processing, but we plan on re-adopting our child(ren) in the United States upon returning. How much would it cost to travel to Cambodia? How much will lodging be for a 2-3 week inter-country stay?

Check out the State Department website with specific information on adoption in Cambodia, http://adoption.state.gov/country/cambodia.html. As you'll see, it's closed, and has been for a number of years now. there's no indication that it will reopen anytime soon.

Well from what I know it is ok and will cost travel and once you internationaly adopt you will be the sole guardians and it will be permanent unlike in national adoptions and you might need to go to court and will need good traveling arangments because cambodia is not the safeist place hope this helped. The travel costs depends on you and if you have a place your food, soap, and esential costs and you will need pass ports but cambodia thailand and laos are beautiful I've fought there :) it will be easier and cheaper to adopt in your own country.

IT depends which state youre in, IDK, my friends arrive from Washington State, it cost around 1100 $ two way tickets around January. Lodging varies by which types you'd like to stay, a good place to rent here is apartments, it cost from 300$ sth a month (Phnom Penh resident), find a yellow page, or go to yp.com.kh.

PS> don't change to cambodian currency, Riel, US dollars is accept everywhere around the countries.

    1 US = 4000 Riels sth, (start from a 100R. unit.)
