Asking to be laid off?
For 6 months now I've been a receptionist/ assistant at a nail spa and due to the slow months the actions have told the owner to lay me of completely but instead she has me working part-time. I live an hour away so I'll just work to put gas in my car. Can I ask to be laid off and b able to collect unemployment. I do have another job lined up but it doesn't start for two months.

It's not suppose to work that way. If you get laid off, it costs the employee money. Hang in there for the two months.
